A very simple way to avoid weight gain is to avoid overeating. I know that might sound obvious, but the thing is, we're so distracted these days with all the overstimulation around us, that we don't actually pay attention when we're eating and snacking.
So are 3 simple tips to avoid overeating!
#1 Don't multi-task + eat until you're 80% full.
That means put away your phone, turn off the tv, put away your book, and give complete attention to your meal. I know that seems impossible, but trust me, you'll notice a huge difference in how you digest that meal when you're actually paying attention! And did you know that this is one of the secrets of Japanese centenarians and how they've achieved longevity? Eating until you feel 80% full, rather than until you really start to feel your stomach stretch is a good time to stop eating. But you'll only be able to do this if you're actually paying attention to your body and have no other distractions during the meal.
#2 Chew your food!
We all chew our food of course, but I mean really chew your food! Like, down to a liquid, kind of chew. This makes it easier for the body to break down the food and to truly benefit and absorb those nutrients in it. The bonus is that when you take your time to chew your food, it naturally takes you longer to finish your meal, and that in turn makes you more attuned to how full you really are. Plus, going back to tip #1, you won't properly chew your food, if you're not actually paying attention!
#3 Pack on the veggies, but don't skip out on your favorites.
In other words, load up your plate with lots of veggies, but also don't deprive yourself of the foods you love - this might cause a binge session later. The vegetables will help make you full so that you'll have just enough room for a bit of dessert.
If you're on a mission to lose weight, this is the simplest way to start!

Have you ever read the package insert that comes with any pharmaceutical drug?
You know, the one that’s folded 10x and has the smallest print and looks like a waste of time and paper?

There’s a lot of controversial info out there on dairy. Some sources say to absolutely avoid it like the devil.
Other sources (like the US and Canadian food guide) say it’s a must with every meal.
Here’s my take on dairy.

Many of us live in parts of the country/world where, during the winter season, it’s rainy, gloomy, snowy and/or too cold to spend too much time outdoors.
And spending too much time indoors can of course have its drawbacks, here’s why.
